8/17/16

Showed well behind the dish at the event as he has an ideal slot for the catching position. Pop time of 2.1. Threw 71 mph from behind the dish with carry to his throws. The receiving is done very well, soft hands and he secures the catch with ease. Good looking catching, and with improvement in the pop time, even better prospect. Ran a 4.82 on his dig to first in the game. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 80 mph. The swing starts a close feet start. The body has forward lean to it as the ball approaches, making him a front foot hitter. The hands needs to be loosened up cause the work, at times it seems like he is fighting to get his hands free to maneuver the bat. Interesting follow.

2/15/16

Right-handed hitting catcher/third baseman who has improved immensely in  the last year. Showed average foot speed and a loose gait during the workout. Threw 69 from behind the dish and showed a clean pop time of 1.95. The arm path is simple and the feet work well during the transfer. Showed soft receiving skills and the ability to block.  There is room for improvement but he is headed in the right direction. The infield arm strength was 73, with carry and accuracy. Showed an average glove and foot work through the ball. At the plate, had a tee exit velocity of 75. The swing is long and flat to the ball, with some tweaking he can certainly shorten it down. He starts with an even and slightly open stance which closes down as the ball approaches. Physical strength will help him as he goes.

12/6/14
5-foot-7, 175-pounds athletic build. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and early hip action. Setup is with a high elbow and barrel which is a tick long to the ball. Feet do get into position, so his base is fine. With added strength, the handling of the bat should come easy. Behind the plate, a low-¾ arm angle, with some head shifting in his throwing causes the ball to run on him. The feet are good as the pop time was 2.06 at his best. 40 time was 5.57 which can improve with work. Exit velocity off the tee was 77 mph.
