5-foot-9, 160-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are sloped and hands have fast twitch to them. One of the better players at this event. Defensively is where he is strongest. From behind the plate, the arm is well above average, it's quick and powerful. The setup is wide, feet work well with hands, the feet replace each other. Is extremely athletic, quick and mobile back there. The are was clocked at 81 mph from the chute and pop times were consistently 1.90, throws are downhill, it was impressive to watch. Worked out at short as well. Moves well to both sides, fields ball out front and transfer is quick. The arm is short and clean, was clocked at 88 mph across the diamond, makes it look easy without much effort, could play all three spots. On the mound was 85-88 mph, after playing all day in the field. The arm strength is there, projects as a backend bullpen guy. The breaking ball is more of a slurve at 68-70 mph. Showed a workable change up, some fade and run to arm side. The fastball jumps out of his hand. Could use the lower half more. Offensively, hits from the left side, the stance is slightly open and wider than shoulder width. Loads the weight up, back elbow gets extended at times. The hands work freely through the zone. The swing has some pull and sweep action to it. The tee exit velocity was 83 mph and ran a 4.47. In game performance, collected a single and made solid contact in two other at bats. Could go either way for me, I like his ability to change the game on the defensive side, I think he will be able to handle the bat and learn to spray it to all fields. Big time prospect.
