5-foot-10, 215-pound right-handed pitcher. Fastball touched 80 mph out of a plus ¾ slot. The spin pitch has an excellent shape to it, sits at 70 mph as well. The spin could be an out pitch in college. The changeup is a good pitch for him sitting at 70 mph, he throws with good hand speed. The delivery is online with his feet and the tracking of his front shoulder is good. There is effort in his delivery and he does teeter totter his shoulders as he goes into foot strike. Would like to see him control his shoulder plane a bit more . Solid showing as he continues to improve his game.
2/12/2017
Much improved 5-foot-10, 215-pound right-hander. The delivery has some arm side pull to it, the direction of his feet are very good. The spin on all his pitches are correct. The fastball sat at 75 mph, sitting true. The breaking ball showed 12/6 action with depth at 66 mph. The changeup is plus at 68 mph with fade and sink to it. Threw strikes throughout the session. Very aggressive in his session and takes his craft seriously. Worked out in the infield as well, throwing 69 mph across the diamond. The bat had a tee exit velocity of 77 mph.
Tee Exit Velocity- 77 mph
Infield Velocity- 69 mph
A thick and burly right-handed pitcher who showed a slightly higher than ¾ arm slot. The fastball got to 77 mph and had downhill plane to it. The breaking ball is big at 60 mph and the changeup is a work in progress at 65 mph. The glove side is pulled down hard, making the slot go up. His bottom half works as he gets into foot strike position rather easily. All his pitches have the right spin and he repeats his delivery. He does have a strong arm so look for him to jump in velocity this spring.
