8/4/16
6-foot-4, 180-pound right-hander who made a significant jump on the scene at the Futures. Shows a tremendous amount of high level potential on the mound. The delivery is on line and the arm works well out of a ¾ slot. Does have a pull of the front side taking away from the tightening of his spin pitch and extension, but that can be cleaned up with coaching. Fastball has plus arm side run and sat 85-86, touching 88 mph. The spin pitch is a wide slurve, sitting at 76-77 mph. The changeup has a chance to be an out pitch as well, sitting at 75-76 mph. In the game, showed good life to his pitches, command needs to improve but all in all, hes a serious guy for me. 30 months from now, he will be in a college game, what do you think he will look like then?
3/9/16
Long and lanky right-hander who has a huge amount of projection to his pitching. The fastball has life and action to it, sitting at 83. The breaking ball is sharp, with depth and tilt, touching 74. Changeup was 75, with sink and fade to the pitch. The delivery is simple, on time and rotational. The slot is 3/4 and the arm works. Tracking of his shoulders can improve, which will allow his ball hand to get out further. Once he keeps his front shoulder direct to the catcher until foot strike, his velocity will bounce. Big time prospect for me.
