Newhard has an athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. He hits from an upright stance and uses a simple load. He shows a contact swing and keeps his barrel through the hitting zone. His 60-yard dash was 7.78. In the outfield, he takes good angles to the ball and works through it with his throws. On the mound, he throws from a high-3/4 arm slot and has a loose, effortless delivery. His fastball sat 70-73 mph with some downhill angle. His changeup was thrown with good arm speed and had late run at 65-67 mph. His curveball had 11/5 break to it with good depth at 61-63 mph.
