6-foot-3, 195 pound strong athletic prospect. High ¾ loose arm slot, with some leverage on his pitches. Fastball fills the strike zone at 78-80 mph. Change-up has good sink at 69 mph and his curveball has decent movement at 65 mph. Good hands and footwork at third base, threw 80 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.95 home to 1st. Wide base with no stride line drive approach, bat speed registered at 82 mph.
2/22/14
6-foot-3, 203 pounds with a big, solid frame. On the mound the right hander throws a high 3/4 slot with long arm action. Smooth delivery. Consistently locates his 79-80 mph fastball down in the zone. Offspeed is still developing. Uses a 72 mph changeup with arm side run, and a 66-67 mph breaking ball. Ran a 7.78 60 yard dash time. At third he plays through the ball while offering some fluid footwork. Throws with long arm action and topped out at 80 mph. The right handed hitter uses a balance set up with toe tap stride. Displays good extension through contact, while using a somewhat violent swing. Linedrive ability with some gap potential. Needs to work on balance throughout swing. Reached an 84 mph exit velocity.
2/9/13
Burke is still growing and developing. He currently is 5-foot-11 without a whisker on his face. He worked out in both the infield and on the mound. HIs best upside in on the mound however. His arm works fine and is longer. He stayed in line well and repeated his delivery well. His hand speed stayed near his fastball creating some deception. Burke should make a big jump as he continues to mature.
