6/16/15- MN Top Prospect
6-foot-3, 210-pound left-handed pitcher. Goodman projects physically on the mound with a fast arm. Once he settles in mechanically and cleans up arm stroke; has chance to make waves. Flashes above average life on fastball with varying cut and sink. Breaking ball has tight rotation and sharp break. Pushes changeup at times. Raw mechanically and is in/around zone for most part. Flashes high-end tools and needs to continue to develop consistency.
2/28/15- MN Preseason All-State
6-foot-3, 206-pound 2-way player with a long athletic frame who ran a 7.4 60. Quick twitch actions on mound. Collapses at balance point. Front leg swings open but lands closed at times. Arm is explosive and very fast with 87-89 mph fastballs. Breaking ball is sharp and thrown with tight rotation at 70-72 mph. Has feel for a changeup and throws for strikes at 77-78 mph. Absolutely has high end stuff. Once he continues to repeat and clean up mechanics; has the highest of ceilings. Produces upper level bat speed at plate. Middle-pull approach with above average pop to pull side of field. Stride is slightly narrow for frame causing him to spin off ball at contact sporadically. Will lift and separate balls with authority. 91 mph exit velocity off tee. Long arm action in the outfield. Arm works clean from over-the-top slot with 90 mph arm strength. Average/ok actions in outfield. Sits back on ground balls at times and fields tall. Shows enough athleticism to cover and play corner outfield.
