Committed to University of Minnesota.

3/20/16- 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. #16 ranked prospect in MN 2017 class. Up tempo delivery. Athletic stride and finish. Compact arm action, slight pause on back-side, clean and quick out front. Some downhill plane to fastball, thrown for quality strikes in bottom of zone, at 86-88 mph. Sharp 12/6 breaking ball thrown with good velocity and tight spin at 74-76 mph. Fastball arm action on changeup with solid fade, run, and sink- will be solid pitch vs. LHH. Has continued to make improvements and currently pitching well in high school season.

7/1/15- 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Projectable body and arm action on mound. Has added strength to lower half. Fastball has 2-seam life for strikes at 82-85 mph. Solid breaking ball at 70-73 mph. Changeup was 75-76 mph for strikes. Small leg kick. Shows strength in swing. Strides across; cutting off lower half. Has pop to middle of field. 78 mph exit velocity off tee. Shows good feet and actions in outfield. Arm action is long and clean with plus accuracy and carry to target. 86 mph arm strength. Continues to make strides in game. Strong Follow as he enters junior season.

6-foot-2, 170-pound 2-way player. Long lean projectable body. Ran a 7.34 60. Slightly open stance to start. Strides across body into contact. Pre-set hand position with small shoulder load into launch. Tends to swing with shoulders. Rotational actions at plate. Simple fixes with load and stride will allow body to work better through swing. Has hand-eye coordination and ability to square baseball. 81 mph exit velocity off tee. Shows good actions on left side of field. Glove and feet work well. Loose actions with quick-clean exchange and release. Accuracy is good across infield with 76 mph arm strength. Works down to up with body control and athleticism. Long one piece arm action on mound from over-the-top slot. Fastball showed good downhill plane for strikes at 75-78 mph. 12/6 breaking ball with moderate break for strikes. Tends to slow arm on change at 68-71 mph.

8/12/19: Struck out 28 in his five starts before departing the Cape early after his July 5 start when he reached his summer innings limit. He has a big fastball up to 96 mph, but did struggle with his control (19 walks in 20.1 IP) and was hit to the tune of a 5.66 ERA. (Seifert)

7/6/186-foot-3, 210 pounds. Tall and slender with room to grow. Works solely out of the stretch. Compact arm action; keeps his elbow bent at 90 degrees throughout his delivery. Arm speed is above average with some whiplash action through his delivery. Two pitch guy with a fastball and a curveball. FB sat 90-92 mph, topped at 93. Mostly straight but threw it for strikes. Didn’t garner many swing and misses. Has a plus CB with late movement and good control. Froze many hitters on this pitch. Clocked it at 77-80 mph. Threw it in any count. With a FB that plays and a plus CB he could develop a CH to throw to LH hitters. In this start he went four innings while allowing one run on four hits. He punched out two and walked one. Solid outing for a young kid with promising stuff. (Jake Stone)

3-5-2018: Another freshman RHP, Sam Thoreson, showed a sinking 91-93 mph fastball in his first inning of work. It tailed off a bit in the second inning, sitting more in the 88-91 range. It was just a quick, two inning look, but he certainly has the size, athleticism, delivery and stuff to be considered a prospect for the 2020 draft.  (Seifert)
