At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, open set up, controlled leg lift and stride, level bat path through zone, gap-to-gap approach.  Behind the plate, 2.19 to 2.27 pop times, 75 mph positional velo, one of best catcher velos for the event, over the top release, clean exchange, accurate throws.

10/11/15 - Sobotka is a 5-foot-8 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2018 class.  He ran a 7.78 60 and a 4.38 home-to-first.  Offensively, simple load in lower half, consistent solid contact to middle of the field, level path to extension, gap-to-gap approach, balanced swing, 74 mph exit velo.  Defensively, pop times between 2.00 and 2.09, accurate throws, over-the-top release, quick actions in feet and hands, clean exchange, 74 mph positional velo.
