Ruff is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound player who showed versatility as an outfielder and infielder, as well as showing some surprising pop at the plate for a player of his size. In the outfield, Ruff moves well to the ball, fielding the ball in good position to throw to his target, with a clean transfer and accurate throws on a line (72-mph). As a shortstop, Ruff showed to be a sure handed fielder with range to his forehand side and accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Ruff takes a short path to the ball with a level, line drive producing swing and showing the ability to effectively hit to all fields.
