8/17/14 – Tieman is a highly projectable 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-handed pitcher. He throws from a ¾ delivery with quick arm speed and loose arm action. Joseph throws with easy effort and has a repeatable release point. Tieman had a fastball velocity range of 78-80 MPH with run and sink. His curveball was at 65-68 MPH with 1/7 tilt and sharp break. Joseph also displayed a change-up that ranged from 68-70 MPH with near fastball arm speed and good sink. He had a great outing displaying command of all 3 pitches. He’s a strike pumper.
7/10/13: With a projectable 6-foot, 165-pound frame, Tieman has shown progression on the mound since his last PBR event. Coming from a high ¾ arm slot with easy effort, Tieman’s fastball topped at 78-mph with some arm side movement and late life consistently around the strike zone. He also showed a gradual breaking 63-65 mph curveball with 2-to-8 shape thrown with near fastball arm speed and a 65-67 mph change up down in the zone with some fade. In the outfield, Tieman has sure hands and a clean exchange. He could be more aggressive to the ball, which would help keep his momentum toward his target and increase his velocity from the 66-70 mph range. Offensively, the left handed hitting Tieman has good rhythm with a level swing and extension through contact. He showed ability to hit the ball to all fields with good bat control.

11/3/12: Tieman is a lanky 6-foot, 165-pound two-way player. On the mound, the left handed thrower comes from a 3/4  arm slot with long arm action and some rhythm on the mound. His fastball was thrown in the 71-74 with late arm side run and sink action. His breaking ball  (61-64-mph) was thrown at near fastball arm speed consistently for a strike with sharp break, while his change up (66-67 mph) showed some arm side run and sink while being kept down in the zone. At the plate, the left handed hitter has a repeatable short, compact swing, extension through contact and the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Tieman also ran a 7.50 60 and had an exit velo of 72-mph.
