6/14/16 - Sparks is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class, a Missouri State commit.  He ran a 7.50 60 and a 4.97 home-to-first.  He has a 93 mph exit velo, top RHH velo for the event. At the plate, open stance, quick bat speed, flashes power to pull gap, quick and level though the zone, stays on ball after contact, singled through the hole at shortstop in game action.  On the infield, short over the top release, fluid footwork, creates momentum through the catch, accurate throws, athletic actions, 83 mph positional velo, one of the top velos of the event. On the mound, Sparks has a lean frame and loose arm action, quick arm speed, high three quarters release, smooth tempo in delivery, accelerates down the mound, fastball at 80-86 mph, some late run, breaking ball has sharp and late action, 12-to-6 action, fastball arm speed, 67-72 mph, quick twitch athlete, had three walks and two strikeouts in his outing.
