5/14/18- Last start for Gomes for the year at the Nebraska s State Tournament. Fastball was up to 94 mph multiple times in the first inning. Carried his velocity through his 107 pitch start still pitching in the 90s in the 7th innings. Threw more change ups than we've seen this year in the 74-80 mph change, mostly left up in the zone but kept hitters off balanced. He finished the night giving up three hits, one earned run while striking out 7 and walking two.
3/16/18- Gomes made his first start of the year and was 89-92 in the first inning. He has a long, loose arm action from a mid-3/4 slot. The fastball had its usual running action and his delivery is smooth and easy. His fastball dropped after the first inning, settling into the 84-88 range in the second through fifth innings on a cold night. He has average feel for a 77-80 breaking ball. He also mixed in a low-80s changeup for strikes. He logged five innings, striking out three, while allowing one run on two hits and three walks.
Committed to Nebraska in December of 2015.

9/18/16- U. Nebraska commit. 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame. Long, loose, and athletic. In first inning Gomes sat 89-92 mph from whippy ¾ arm slot with considerable late run for strikes. Gomes slider was much better than when I previously saw him in May. Had consistent 10/4 shape, repeated for quality strikes, and had hard break with depth at 78-79 mph.
5/20/16- On the mound, Gomes throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a buggy whip arm action with run on his 83-86 mph fastball that has touched 87 mph. Also spins a sharp slider with good depth.

8/1/15- Gomes above average athleticism that allows him to play multiple positions in the field including SS, 3B, 1B and all three spots in the outfield. At the plate showed good power numbers playing for the junior varsity legion program in the summer of 2015.
