Pron has a broad shouldered, athletic build at 6-foot-1 185-pounds. Fastball topped at 86 MPH, touching 85 a few times and sat mostly 82-83 throughout his sequence at the event. Mixed in a curveball with 11/5 break at 68-71 and a changeup with some fade at 74-75. Big velocity jump since we saw him last in June 2017. Pron starts his delivery at a methodical pace, bringing his hands over his head to start and into a tall, athletic balance point. Effortless and smooth thoughout his delivery, Pron lands square to home plate with a straight foot. Will finish off to first base side as well. Long, loose arm action from a high-3/4 slot. Will be interesting to see some of the jumps Pron makes this spring as the weather continues to get warmer. Definitely a prospect to watch for.
Pron has an athletic build at 6-foot-1 175-pounds. Fastball topped at 79 and sat mostly 76-79 throughout his outing. Flashed an 11/5 curveball at 62-65 and showed feel for a changeup with armside run at 71-72. Slow, controlled delivery into a tall balance point. Creates uphill leverage with shoulders going down the mound. High-3/4 slot with long, clean arm action. Finishes to the first base side of the rubber. Repeatable mechanics and slot, velocity will come as he continues to mature into frame.
Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Pron has a physical build at 6-foot-1 170-pounds. Ran a 8.24 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts with a tall, narrow stance and hands below his back shoulder. Starts swing with a big leg kick which loads his hands back. Creates good balance and some lift on finish. Shows some extension in bat path. Exit Velocity topped at 84 mph. Defensively- feet are choppy, projects more as a corner infielder. Throws across the infield topped at 73 mph from true-3/4 slot.Long exchange, heavy feet with lateral movements. Pitching- Fastball topped at 80 mph, sat 77-79 with his fastball. Flashed a breaking ball with 11/5 slider-like action at 66 mph. Mechanics are sound, balance point is tall, drives down the mound using lower half. Shoulders are level with ground. Long, loose arm action, high-3/4 slot. Creates good extension over front lead leg on release.
