New Jersey Games (July 23-25, 2016)
Menendez has an athletic build at 5-foot-9 160-pounds. Has smooth rhythm in delivery and repeats well. Throws from a high-3/4 slot. Clean, loose arm action, topped at 81, sat 76-79 with fastball. Spun breaking ball very well. Has tight spin and sharp 1/7 action at 72-74. Hand speed is fastball-like, makes it difficult to pick up, especially for LH hitters. Flashed a changeup with some armside fade at 74. Can throw three pitches for strikes in any count.

Preseason All-State- NY (February 28, 2016)
Evan has an athletic build at 5-foot-9 160 pounds. Pitching- Evan sets up from his glove side on the rubber using a short side step before driving to a mid chest balance point. Arm action is long with some drop down action on his back leg. Lands slightly open with stride foot and towards the heel with a high 3/4 arm slot. Gets up and over his front side with a finish square to the plate. Fastball featured some arm side run, sitting in the 76-77 MPH range. Showed the ability to work both sides of the plate. Curveball had 11-to-5 shape with late action, a pitch he could spot or expand with. Good feel for change up with some late fade but possibly a bit firm in the 72 MPH range. Southpaw with a 3 pitch mix that understands how to pitch.
Battle at the Border (October 18, 2015)
Menendez had the best performance of all New Jersey pitchers. He went two innings of scoreless ball, giving up only 1 hit while striking out 5. He pitches with smooth rhythm, compact mechanics, and relatively low effort. He has a quick, compact arm action and pitches from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball has arm side life at 79-79 (81 MPH tops) miles-per-hour. His breaking ball has a chance to be a plus-plus out pitch at the next level with sharp, late 11-to-5 action at 70-74 MPH. His pitchability is through the roof as he protects the breaking ball with fastballs up in the zone. He can throw the curveball back foot or back door; both with command and conviction.
