2017 Future Games (August 3-5, 2017)
Povey has a lean, projectable prototypical pitcher's build at 6-foot-2 165-pounds with room to fill out frame. Fastball topped at 89 MPH. Quickness in his arm action. He sat 85-89 mph with fastball, and for his secondary offering he threw a 73-74 mph breaking ball with downer 12/6 action. Fastball shows late life and seems to jump out of hand on release. Smooth, repeatable mechanics. Small leg lift into a strong balance point. Uphill shoulders going down the mound – finishes square to homeplate. High-ceiling prospect.

2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Povey has a lanky, wiry-athletic frame at 6-foot-2 165-pounds. Fastball topped at 85 MPH and sat mostly 83-85 in the majority of his outing. Curveball showed sharp 12/6 action at 72-74 with fastball hand speed and downer action. Up tempo start to delivery into an athletic balance point. Uphill shoulders going down the mound. Strong, firm landing leg. Landing foot lands square to homeplate. Long, loose, whippy arm action. Clean, repeatable mechanics throughout. One of the top uncommitted arms in the state, expect Povey to make a big jump in velocity this spring.

MD Underclass Prospect Games (6/21/17)
Projectable lanky frame at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Controlled, deliberate build up delivery with slight corkscrew in lift to average leg kick and slight cross body action. Smooth lower half with some back side drive and slight finish to first base side. Longer, sound arm action throwing from an almost over the top slot. Creates fast arm speed with regular effort. Repeats well and shows comman of the zone. Fastball has slgiht run to the pitch with occasional two-plane up to 87 on the day. Shows curveball and and slider, tho both have similar 12/6 shape, but slider is a later breaking shorter action on the pitch with swing and miss potential and curveball has more depth with 12/6 shape. Slider has more bottoming out action. Nice feel around the plate and room to add on to his frame. Interesting prospect in the 2019 class.
Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Povey has a lanky, athletic build at 6-foot-2 165-pounds. RHP ranked No. 15 in NJ's 2019 class. High follow prospect. Povey's fastball topped at 84 mph, sat mostly 82-83. Breaking ball has sharp 12/6 break at 65-68. Also flashed a straight changeup at 72 mph. Curveball separates him from his peers. Sharp swing-and-miss pitch with command. High-3/4 slot, long, loose arm action with a whippy finish. Creates uphill shoulder tilt going down the mound, finishes toward the first base side of the mound. Good looking pitcher frame with room for added muscle.

10/6/16
Povey has a lanky build at 6-feet 150-pounds. Free and loose arm action from a high-¾ slot, Povey sat 81-83 touching 84. Showcased his breaking ball well for strikes at 68-71 mph. True 12/6 breaker with tight spin, downer breaker with swing and miss potential. Flashed a straight change at 76 mph as well. Projectable frame, already up to 84 mph - more velocity in the tank as he continues to add muscle.
New Jersey Games (July 23-25, 2016)
Povey is a wiry 6-foot 150-pound RHP. Very projectable arm and prospect overall. Had one of the best curveballs at the event. Sat 81-82 touching 83 with a true 12/6 curveball at 67, advanced pitch for his age. Has been up to 84 mph with fastball. Throws from high-3/4 slot with lightning quick arm action for his age. Already has control of body with balanced finish. Will have velocity jump as he continues to add muscle to frame.
