2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Deusch has a broad shouldered, athletic build at 5-foot-11 180-pounds. Fastball topped at 81 MPH and sat mostly 79-81 throughout his two innings of work. Flashed a curveball with 1/7 shape at 64-67 MPH with tight spin for strikes. Easy, methodical delivery into a tall, athletic balance point. Uphill shoulders going down the mound create some leverage down in the zone. High-3/4 slot with a long arm action. Spins off to third base side on release. Strong lower half going down the mound. Firm front landing leg. Front landing foot lands slightly opened and spins opened even more on finish.
Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Deusch has a strong, athletic build at 5-foot-11 180-pounds. Fastball topped at 79 mph, sat 77-79. Curveball came in at 67 and flashed a changeup at 73, both for strikes. High-3/4 arm slot with a short, quick arm action. Able to command offspeed low in the zone for strikes. Tall/fall type pitcher. Looks to drift toward homeplate from balance position. Lands square and athletic. Dips front shoulder in leg lift. Shoulders are level at first foot strike. Shows low effort in delivery and finish.
New Jersey Games (July 23, 2016)
Deusch is a 5-foot-10 170-pound left handed pitcher with a very high ceiling. Polished for his age already, Deusch was excelled especially well in the bottom half of the strike zone. Very clean and quick arm action. Enticing to look at, especially because he is lefty. Velocity might not be there yet, topped at 80. But mechanics and arm work very well. Slightly undersized, but looks to still be growing. Throws from high 3/4 slot. Flashed breaking ball at 64-65. Can spin offspeed for strikes. Slight pause at the top of balance point helps him load his back side. High follow prospect for the next few years.
