Unsigned Senior Showcase (October 16, 2016)
Perez has an athletic build at 6-feet 175-pounds. Fastball topped at 82 but sat consistently 81-82 for the entirety of his outing. CB 67-68 mph and straight CH at 75 mph. Up tempo delivery, pauses slightly in balance point causing him to fall somewhat down the mound instead of driving off the rubber. Tall finish, landing leg posts early restricting him of extension, but creates his sink/run on his fastball. High-3/4 slot with stab in arm swing. Utilizes two-seam fastball to run in to right handed batters well.


New Jersey Games (July 23-25, 2016)
Perez has an athletic build at 5-foot-11 170-pounds. Throws from a high-3/4 slot. Fastball was up to 84 but sat primarily 82-83 with some run. Curveball had 11/5 depth at 77 mph. Flashed a 75 mph changeup too. Short, quick arm, has a hitch in balance point . Landing is square and in line, shows minimal effort. Shoulder tilt type of pitcher, uses leverage down the mound to get down in the zone.



Winter Trials South (January 30, 2016)

Spencer is an inch taller at 5-foot-11 and a leaner 170 pounds then when at our last PBR event. Physical changes have carried over to positives on the mound. Pitching- Spencer uses a short side step up to a mid chest balance point with a slight lean back before breaking hands. Stays loaded over back leg with a stride that slightly closes himself off. Arm action is long out of the glove with good late acceleration from a mid to high 3/4 arm slot. Strong front side into finish with a slight recoil/stopping of the arm. FB was an improved 79-81 MPH that stayed down in the zone. Change up was 75-76 MPH, a bit firm but with splitter like action. Curveball checked in at 69-71 MPH with some 2-to-8 sweep to it. Repeats delivery pitch to pitch and has an idea with secondary stuff,  improved differential with change up will help better off-set his FB.

Perez is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound righty that initiates his delivery with a short side rocker step, sitting 76-77 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with arm side run to his fastball. The sophomore gets out over his front leg well and has a quick arm which should lead to velocity gains moving forward. Perez also pounded the strike zone with his 66 mph curveball that showed 11/5 rotation. His 70 mph changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed and displayed some arm side run.
