2.9.19- ProCase
5-foot-10, 180-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Ran a 7.38 sixty at the event. The approach in the infield is solid and the feet stay active through the fielding. The glove is athletic and soft, he can move around the infield if need be. Threw 86 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph. The setup is wide, the weight gets shifted to the front foot. The bat has a good amount of buggy whip to it, and the hands work very well. I like the bat, should hit in college.
Tee Exit Velocity - 84 mph
INF Velocity -86 mph
Call to the Hall (July 24, 2018)

Sturdy 5-foot-10 175 pound frame with a personal best 7.09 60 time for the left-handed hitting middle infielder. Offensively- Slightly open stance; hands even with head and flat barrel to start. Quiet timing with improved swing path and strength to contact. Line drive approach and starting to show juice to his pull side gap. Exit velocity off the tee was 84 MPH. Swing mechanics and efforts are more consistent and repetitive then past events. Defensively- Hands down the best in-game defender at Cooperstown; range to glove side and into the hole and made difficult plays seem routine; above average hands with a quick exchange and adequate left side arm at 84 MPH across the diamond.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2018)

Stands 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with a strong quick lower half. At the plate, wide approach with a slightly open stance from the left-side, back elbow high loose and relaxed. On the pitch he uses a small stride back to even, hands are direct to the ball, full fluid slightly uphill barrel path showing off fast-twitch, 85 mph exit velocity but signs of even more bat-speed to come. Defensively, one of the top 2019 MIF's with the glove. Active and smooth lower half, polished mechanics with a fast clean transfer, above average arm-strength at 87 mph from multi-slots. Maryland commitment that continues to impress the more we see him.
Future Games (August 2017)
Downstate Fall Preview (October 2, 2016)

Perez, a 2019 left-handed hitting shortstop, stands at 5-foot-8 and weighs 140 pounds, ran a
7.53 60, which was .14 quicker than back in January. Offensively- Starts with a base of feet shoulder width apart weight shifted slightly to the back side and feet square and the hands starting in front of the back shoulder while the barrel has a slight wrap behind the head. Initiates the swing with a front leg kick while the hands move straight back off the back shoulder with the hands remaining shoulder height, with the back elbow getting parallel to the ground while the barrel of the bat wraps slightly behind the head. Showed an ability to get the front foot down keeping the hands behind the rotation of the hips enabling him to drive the ball between the pull gap and opposite field gap during batting practice. Recorded an exit velocity of 73 MPH and increase of 5 MPH since last event attended. Aggressive swing and attacks the ball at and through contact. Defensively-  Uses a traditional pre-pitch movement of step hop to set the feet. Showed smooth fluid movements to the ball, able to read the hop and create positive momentum towards the target. Funnels the ball to the center of the body, helping create a quick transfer and short arm action. Throws showed plus carry and accuracy from the shortstop position. Registered an arm velocity of 76 MPH on the day, a slight increase from the 75 MPH previously shown.
NY State Open ID (January 30, 2016)

Aaron is a slender yet athletic 5-foot-4 120 pound middle infielder who ran a 7.67  60 and a 4.24 home-to-1B from the left side. Offensively- Aaron sets up slightly open with a short load and stride back to even. Does roll through his front leg at contact but still showed a repeatable short stroke into the zone with some extension/weight transfer. Line drive results with an exit velocity of 68 MPH. Defensively- Positive middle infield actions with a quick first step. Breakdown into his fielding position is a bit narrow with glove side foot hanging back. Would like to see a wider base and a better setup to help with angles with throws the left side. At 75 MPH with his arm strength as a 2019, he may see more time at SS/3B in the long term. Skill set is there with good actions all around. Experience and physical maturity will be a big part of his development.
