Campus Series-Canisius (July 5, 2017)
Compact, athletic 5-foot-10 175 pound frame. Pitching- Sets up glove side of the rubber; easy knee drive just above the belt from both windup and stretch. Long arm action from a high 3/4 slot; lands slightly open causing some unintentional arm-side run (not a bad thing as it stayed in the zone). FB sat 83-86, popping an 87 MPH on a downward plain. Above average CB with 12-to-6 shape, late action at 71-74 MPH, an above average secondary offering. Flashed a few changes in the 76-77 MPH range. Could be higher level bullpen option or front line starter at the right program.
June 27, 2017

5-foot-10, 175- pound right-handed pitcher who put on a good show for the scouts. The fastball touched 87 mph and was true. Would like to see him add in more 2-seams to keep hitters off his fastball as he moves up in levels. The breaking ball is a plus pitch, 75 mph with depth and tilt. The pitch is an out pitch at the college level. The changeup was nasty in the game, as he got a couple swing and misses, sitting at 74 mph. The delivery is athletic and the direction is appropriate. The slot is slightly above ¾ and there is a little effort in the delivery. He is a strike thrower coming off a great high school season. Don’t let the height fool you, this dude can pitch.
Massachusets Pitching Analysis (March 8, 2017)

5-foot-8, 175 -pound right-handed pitcher from the Hayner Sports Barn program. The delivery is athletic,  the feet are online and the slot is  plus ¾. The arm is fast and he is a strike thrower. There is a glove pull prior to foot strike causing the slot to raise, taking away from extension. The fastball touched 86 mph with run to it. The breaking ball is a good one, an out pitch at the next level as its close to 12/6 in rotation. The spin pitched touched 72 mph. The changeup is thrown correctly with fade and sink to it, sitting at 78 mph. Good looking arm. All 3 pitches work, has value as a reliever or a starter at the next level.

Futures Games (July 2015)
Yankowski, a well built 5'9" 150 lbs INF/RHP, had a tremendous jump in his exit velocity from 76 to 85 MPH. Ran a 7.45 60 and maintained his 80 MPH positional velocity. Popped a personal best 82 MPH from the mound. Offensively- David hit's from a wide stance with simple timing mechanisms (short load, heel lift). Good back foot/hip rotation while staying behind the ball. Accelerates through the zone with a short stroke and extension to all fields. Very easy effort and repeatable swing. Defensively- Active footwork in all directions, hands out in front with quick transfer. More then suitable left side arm (80 MPH). Serviceable at shortstop but could handle 2B/3B with ease. Pitching- David uses a high leg kick that pushes his shoulders back slightly. Controlled stride with length and direction, using tall and fall method. Area of concern is front leg on landing which features a 90 degree collapse bringing body position much lower to the ground and losing the downward throwing plane. Arm action is long and clean, coming through at high 3/4 slot (1:30) with good extension despite front side concerns.
Futures Showcase (February 28, 2015)
One of the best all around players at the future prospects showcase.  Will play Varsity this year as a Freshman for Ichabod Crane Central HS. Yankwoski stands a strong 5-foot-9, 150-pounds. Offensively- At the plate he starts wide and athletic.  His weight starts back with small hell lift for timing.  Hands start just above his shoulder. Rotates front in late and gains torque.  Swing is aggressive and quick to the ball.  Head stays down and quiet.  Good rhythm and balance.; 76mph exit velocity.  Next level hitter. Defensively- In the field David shows good movement to both sides.  Quick to the ball with good foot work.  Receives it low and in front.  Clean funnel, quick transfer.  Good arm action and arm speed.  Top position velocity was 80mph. Pitching-  On the mound his hands start in front.  Uses a side step to a high leg kick.  Stays over the rubber, leads well with his hip.  Loose mid 3/4 arm slot.  Good rotation over his front side.  Throws down hill, consistently; peak FB at 80 mph.  CB shows hard 11-5 break.  One of the top 2018's.  Expect gains as he matures and gets stronger.  Fun to watch.
