New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Pappas stands with great size at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds with a lean frame that's able to take on more weight. He ran a 7.54 60. Offensively- Weight shifts from front-foot to back-foot on the pitch, long load with a slight pause before powering short to the ball. Level barrel at contact from a fluid, balanced swing that produces pull-side power - exit velocity of 85 mph (87 MPH in Feb. 2016). Defensively- a quality defender with above average in-game footwork with 2.0 and better pop-times (2.00 in showcase). Arm strength peaked at 70 MPH. Continued development with his foot-speed and arm-strength will go a long ways for this next-level catcher.

Preseason All-State (Feb. 28, 2016)
Pappas stands 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with a lean, athletic frame.  He recently stood-out during our Preseason All-State Showcase as a premium defender behind the plate with a serious chance to do damage at the plate. Offensively - His setup is slightly open, relaxed with his feet just outside his shoulders.  He strides back in line and creates good separation while using a rhythmic back to front, smooth load. Hands power through the zone quick with a high finish. Showed an above average exit velocity of 87-mph. Defensively - Showed good athletic ability behind the plate with a quick transfer and flashed a 2.06 pop time with signs of sub-2 times present. His frame will certainly see positive gains in weight as he matures. Pappas, in his class (2017), is one of the better hitting catchers in the state.
