NY Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Rubino is a lean 6-foot-1, 170-pound LHP/OF with very good length. Pitching- Slight drop step and drift towards 3B. Fluid windup with high leg kick at chest level. Rubino’s plant foot lands slightly open with long arm action. Uses long arms to sling from the ¾ arm slot. Finishes smoothly over firm front side. Arm side tail to go along with a FB that sat 79-80, touching 83 MPH.  CB was 70-72 MPH with big sweeping action.
Massachusetts Pitcher Analysis (March 9, 2016)
Lanky left-hander who throws from a ¾ slot and a long arm whip on the backside. The delivery is athletic and repeatable. There is rotation in the delivery, keeping him from getting length and his hand out front as far as possible. Tracking and direction to the plate can improve. In saying all that, he has a chance to have legit stuff. The fastball has life and action to it, touched 86 MPH. The breaking ball was 68 and has the right shape and depth to it. Also threw a cutter, which at times is good, touching 78. The changeup was 75 and has the right fade to it.

Border Battle (October 18, 2015)
James is an athletic-looking prospect with a fairly-loose arm out of a mid-3/4 slot. His fastball touched 79 MPH but was deceptive. More velocity would help, but not sure he needs it with the weak swings it created. He dabbled with a cutter that appeared to have some late bite and sat 72-73 MPH.
Velocity gains will surely come as his body matures, his easy going arm action has little restriction and will be able to support it.
New York Games (July 7-9, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with a very athletic body, Clean and smooth instincts in the field, has very soft hands and good glove work, has a quick transfer with average arm strength, releases at a high -3/4 arm slot. Begins with a slightly opened stance, has a fluid load and short, balanced stride to the pitch, bat path stays in the zone and has good hand action to the point of contact, makes consistent contact and is athletic at his finish. Pitching- Hard working lefty with an athletic frame, lanky build. His arm action is free and easy, fastball comes out of a mid-3/4 slot, sits 78-81 showing improvement from last October. Fastball shows some arm-side tail, curveball 68-70 shows loose early break, changeup was 73 mph and slows some on his hand speed. Chance to be good if he continues getting better.
Last Chance Preview Showcase (October 18, 2014)
Rubino stands 6-foot-0, 155-pounds and has a long lean projectable frame. Pitching- On the mound he uses a quick tempo for his delivery, drives off back side over the rubber, long front side, long arm action with some shoulder tilt, throws from a high-3/4 slot. Fastball sits 76-78 mph, curveball sits 64 mph, early hump, needs to get his hand out in front more on release with more hand speed. Changeup has plus fastball hand speed at 68 mph. Smooth and clean there is velocity projection in his arm. 1B/HItting - From first base he fields out in front, stays low, back arm action, throws from a mid-3/4 slot, infield arm strength was 76-79 mph. From the plate he bats from the right side, balanced approach, long path, uphill bat plane, extension out in front, high finish. Exit velocity was 77 mph. Home to first time was 4.4, pro agility was 4.53.

ENY JUCO Day (October 20, 2018)

6-foot-1 180 pound build with a strong lower half for the southpaw. Pitching-Sets up to his glove side; small side step up to a chest high balance point. Arm action is long with a short wrap behind the back before working through a low 3/4 arm slot. Commands FB and secondary offerings to both sides of the plate. FB featured late arm side action while CB hand a 12-6/1-7 downward shape. Change up held it's plane with a 7-8 MPH separation. Demonstrated composure and pitchability.
