Campus Series- Marist (July 25, 2017)
Ragone stands in at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty shows a level bat path with quick hands with potential line drive power. Has a smooth swing with a good trigger followed by efficient lower body rotation utilizing the whole-body throughout the whole swing. Demonstrated good plate coverage driving the ball up the middle and to the pull side. Overall a fluid swing with potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 86 MPH, a 2 MPH improvement from October 2016. Pitching- Righty shows good separation with smooth mechanics into a strong follow through and finish. Drives down the mound well with loose arm action into a mid-3/4 release point. Repeats mechanics well and consistent with both his pitches. Fastball range was 74-76 MPH peaking at 77 MPH with arm side run. Curveball range was 65-66 MPH showing tight 12/6 action getting hitters to swing and miss.
Downstate Fall Preview (October 2, 2016)

Ragone, a right-handed hitting 2018 middle infielder/pitcher, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs a solid 165 pounds, he ran a
7.66 60. Offensively- Starts with a square wide athletic base with the weight slightly shifted to the backside. Hands begin in front of the back shoulder with the barrel of the bat at a 45-degree angle. Initiates the swing with a heavy shift to the back leg while the hands are triggered straight back creating a quality separation during the launch phase. This strong athletic middle infielder, showed the ability to drive the ball from line to line, during BP, with plus pop. Gets to the ball with a compact swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH on the day, which was a huge increase of 10 MPH from the last event attended. Defensively- Showed fluid movements on the day with some athleticism. Quality prepitch movement, able to keep continuous movement to and through the ball. Funneling the ball to the center of the body and transferred the ball quickly, made strong accurate throws. Registered an arm velocity of 75 MPH on the day, up 5 MPH from a year ago. With some more drive from the back leg, throws will show more carry and the MPH will increase. Pitching- Starts from a slight step on the first base side of the rubber with the hands center of the body. Takes an abbreviated drop step towards first while the hands drop slightly. Gets into the gathered position with a leg kick that brings the knee just below the chest with the hand brought up chest height. Hand separation is early creating long arm action. Showed a willingness to pitch inside and attack the strike zone during the live scrimmage. Fastball showed arm side run with a top velocity of 79 MPH from a high ¾ arm slot. Curveball showed tight rotation with 11-to-5 spin and a top velocity of 65 MPH. Change-up showed good depth and spin with a velocity of 72 MPH.
Greater NYC Preseason Open (February 19, 2015)
Ragone stands 5-foot-9, 140-pounds with an athletic body. On the mound he uses a side-step, balanced delivery, belt knee lift, hands above knee, slightly tucked over the rubber. Stays tall on his back side, shoulder separation, arm action is back and clean, throws from a high-3/4 slot, fastball was 72 mph. Developing his pitches still but shows command for a freshman. Hitting/SS - At the plate his setup is slightly open, on the pitch he loads back, weight shifts back, slight toe tap and small stride. Path is short, plane is mostly level through contact, shoulder height finish. 74 mph exit velocity. From SS he gets behind the ball in the correct position, fields low with knees bent, head up. Glove is open and funnels back to his belt, clean transfer to a long arm action. Throws from a low/mid-3/4 slot at 70 mph. He ran a 4.58 home-to-first-time.
