Kelly checks in at a solid 6-foot-0 190 pounds. He ran a 4.25 home-to1B. Offensively- The RHH sets up slightly open; uses a controlled leg kick with a short take back of the hands. Stays behind the ball with and aggressive lower half. Explodes through the ball post contact, displaying line drives results with some pop to his pull side gap. Exit velocity was at 80 MPH but plays higher. Top to middle of the order projection. Defensively- Aggressive approach in the OF; explosive through crow hop showing a clean exchange with a high 3/4 arm slot that produces carry. Outfield velocity peaked at 82 MPH. On the infield Kelly showed steady hands, adequate transfer and footwork with a shortened arm action peaking at 78 MPH. Actions lean more towards a 2B/3B projection as an infielder. Pitching- On the mound Kelly sets up to his glove side, using neck high leg drive. Slight give on his back leg as he extends to the plate. High 3/4 to 3/4 arm slot with a coil out of the glove. Some collapse on front side into follow through but does repeat his delivery. Quick arm with late life on FB at 76-78 MPH, CB had more of a slider/slurve feel with some inconsistent arm speed at 63-66 MPH with some late lateral action and sink. Demonstrated some feel for the change with above average arm side sink and fade at 66-69 MPH. Impressive all-around athlete with a huge upside.
