Western New York Open (July 23, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.70 Home to 1st from the right-hand side.  He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 87 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, slightly open, high leg kick stride, with a smooth load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing.  His exit velocity was 89 MPH.   He is a player who shows a lot of potential to progress to the next level in college.

New York Games (July 7-9, 2015)
Athletically built with a 5-foot-11, 175-pounds frame. Has a clean, loose arm action with great arm strength across the diamond, has potential for rangy ability. Fields ball deep but arm strength and quick release makes him a solid fielder. At the plate setup is balanced and relaxed, path to the ball is compact and strong with a smooth load and short stride to the pitch. Has high finish and keeps the bat level through the hitting zone. Shows great projection as a hitter with more hard work.

6/21/15
Simmons played a great SS game one making routine plays and a few coin flips as well. Going to his glove side he played a ball out in front of his left leg, used a quick glove-to-hand/clean transfer and fired a dart from his back leg falling to the third-base side. Arm is well above average, footwork is the question mark on whether he stays at SS moves to second-base. The bat is short and compact, quick hands, contact with opposite field consistency.

Preseason All-State (February 15, 2015)

Simmons stands 5-foot-11, 175-pounds with an athletic built frame. His fielding actions before the ball are smooth, gets out in front, moves through his throws. His glove is soft, hands are quick, release could be faster. He shows an above average arm at 87 mph across the diamond, excited to see him progress this year on the defending AA State Champs squad. He also swings a high-end contact style, hands inside the ball type hitter, some extension out in front, needs to continue working on getting stronger. 84 mph exit velocity off a tee.
NY Pro Holiday Clinic (December 21, 2014)
Simmons stands 5-foot-11, 175-pounds with an athletic built frame. From the infield Simmons shows the makings of a next-level player. He shows above average arm strength at 84 mph, from a high-3/4 slot with deep clean arm action. He really gets through his throws and finishes out in front. He fields the ball low and athletic, glove face in proper position. He shows a quick funnel, clean exchange and smooth footwork.  At the plate he sets up slightly open, hands relaxed by his back ear. On the pitch he shifts his weight back, knee lift for timing, lands slightly open with his toe. Short path to the ball, sightly inclined barrel through the zone, great extension out in front, high balanced finish. 83 mph exit velocity off a tee (wood bat). 7.1 60 time showing athleticism.
