Cowles stands 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with an athletic look. At the plate he sets up relaxed, wide, hands near back shoulder. On the pitch he uses a back load, small stride, path is longer to the ball, barrel stays mostly level through the contact zone. Finish is shoulder high. Exit velocity off a tee 63 mph. From the MIF he gets behind the ball well, bends back a little more then he should, funnels back to his belt, very quick transfer and release, throws from a very low-side arm slot. Arm strength at 66 mph. He ran a 5.1 home-to-first-time.
