8/7/16 Projectable right hander standing at 6-foot-2, 155-pound uses an average tempo delivery with a little more than moderate effort. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot in which the ball shows life as a result of good arm speed. Fastball was 82-84 mph with ASR. Breaking ball is a sharp one at 73 mph. Showed the ability to throw this pitch for a strike, while also creating swing and misses. At the plate he starts in a tall setup before using a rhythmic bat tip to load his upper half during his stride forward. Legs are adequate but could create more energy. Barrel path is flat with definite batspeed in there. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph. Worked well to the middle of the field in batting practice. Moves light on his feet in the infield, with fluidness to his actions. Athletic kid. Glove works well, only adjustment would be to maintain momentum through fielding position as he sometimes fields from heels. Threw across the diamond with 80 mph arm strength.
7/5/16 6-foot-2, 155-pound thin athletic build with room to fill out. At the plate, he shows a short compact swing. Starts with a tall upright stance, with a brief leg kick load. Showed some power to his pull side in his round of batting practice. Registered a top exit velocity of 89 mph. In the infield, he shows good athletic movements, fields out front before transitioning into a high ¾ slot. Could improve by fielding through the baseball towards first base. On the mound, he shows choppy rhythm in his delivery that requires some effort. Uses his lower half well gathering momentum down the mound. Spins a sharp breaking curveball at 69-70 mph that he is able to keep low in the zone. Also showed feel for a changeup thrown with fastball armspeed at 71-72 mph. At the plate the righty starts in a tall setup before taking an aggressive stride forward. Creates efficient energy into contact. Hands move back before getting through the zone with above average batspeed. Showed impressive pop to pull side and reached a top exit velocity of 85 mph.
