2/10/19
We’ve been talking for a while now about the emerging power for Ohio State commit Caden Kaiser, as its never been a question of if but when. The barrel accuracy, knowledge of the strike zone and in game abilities in general have always ranked at the top of his class, and now he may have finally added power to that repertoire. The lefty swinger showed off a noticeably more physical than we’ve seen in past with positive swing changes that have allowed him to lift the ball more naturally. Path now displays more depth/loft without sacrificing his elite bat to ball skills. This was by far his most impressive BP we’ve seen him take. Don’t be surprised if Kaiser is in contention for the state’s player of the year at the end of the spring

2/11/18

Shows obvious athleticism and barrel control at the plate. The future Buckeye primarily works through a middle/way approach but will let it loose to his pull side at times. His timing looks to dictate which side of the field he uses rather than location of the pitch. Kaiser’s skill set plays for high average with flashes of more and more power each time we see him. A corner type in the outfield that has also projects as a well above average defender at first base.

Exit Velocity: 90

6/6/17
Kaiser has made a name for himself as a top pure hitter in the 2019 class. Frame is athletic, with potential to grow into a specimen at at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. The physical tools are there, as he has the bat speed and strength to drive the gaps with ease. What separates Kaiser is knowledge of the strike zone and feel for the barrel. Rarely swings and misses and normally produces hard contact when he pulls the trigger. An average guy with present gap to gap pop and shows more signs of becoming a power threat as he grows into his frame. Defensively, he projects as a well-above average outfielder and potential to be a plus first baseman. Although his ceiling is higher at the plate he also throws off the bump. Uses short arm action and delivery requires little effort. Flashed some quickness to his arm while working through a near over the top slot. Fastball sits 74-76 mph with arm side run. Uses both sides of the plate with the pitch. His best secondary offering is his 65-67 mph breaking ball. The pitch has some sharpness to it while working on a 1/7 plane.

2/19/17

6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect with athletic build. Similar build and skill set as Kyle Casserly (WVU - now at Wright State). In the outfield, he approaches the ball in a controlled, aggressive manner. Plays through it and keeps momentum moving forward. Likely a corner outfield type but has athleticism to potentially player center. A high profile bat in the 2019 class that continues to impress. A smooth swinger that has advanced hand eye coordination and feel for the barrel. Uses both sides of the field with well above average pop. Still has room to fill out and is far from his ceiling physically. On the mound the left handed pitcher displays a smooth, repeatable delivery while throwing through a high ¾ slot. Arm shows evident quickness to the plate. Fastball consistently sits between 77-80 mph. Breaking ball displays gradual 1/7 break at 67-68 mph. Also mixes in a 74-75 mph changeup.

2/12/17
A very good athlete with a 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Kaden Kaiser, a left-handed hitting outfielder out of Olentangy HS, is positioning himself as one of the top uncommitted 2019 bats in the State of Ohio. His best days are still ahead of him as he has much more room to fill out his already solid, 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Kaiser has an impressive combination of natural tools and feel for the barrel. His swing has very little swing and miss, already possessing gap to gap pop. In batting practice he consistently found the barrel, showing the ability to spray line drives to either side of the field. Kaiser is young for his grade and has the tools to be even more impressive once he hits his next wave of maturity.

7/26/16
With a strong spring and impressive summer Kaiser is starting to prove himself to be one of the top left-handed bats in the 2019 class. Has a very smooth, rhythmic load before getting excellent weight transfer into contact. Has noticeable looseness to his hands and gets his bat through the zone with obvious strength and batspeed. Very rarely misses the barrel. Sprayed line drives all over the field in batting practice and recorded three hits in the game. Reached a top exit velocity of 90 mph. A versatile defender that is above average in the outfield and has a chance to be a high-level defensive first baseman. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Very good player.

7/6/16
6-foot, 175-pound thinner, athletic frame that projects. A young, athletic, left-handed hitting prospect showing above average bat speed for his age by recording a top exit velocity of 86 mph at the event. Starts his swing from a slightly open stance using a good, rhythmic weight shift with his lower half to his back leg to generate energy while striding back to being squared up to even. Fluid load with his hands moving to his back shoulder. Swings with an upward bat path through the zone, while showing the ability to use both sides of the field. Ran a well above average 6.88 60-yard dash for his first base position, which could possibly see him move into the outfield for a future additional position.  From the outfield, he showed good footwork, attacking the ball during his run throughs. Throws with a long back arm action into a high ¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength. On the mound, he shows regular effort in his delivery. Good direction to the plate, landing online at foot strike. Throws from a high ¾ slot with the fastball sitting 74-76 mph. Curveball has sharp break at 62-64 mph Changeup sat 70-72 mph.

6/15/16
A very projectable, athletic frame at 6-foot, 175-pounds. A very talented prospect with an impressive build for his age. From the left side he showed rhythm and fluidity throughout his swing with obvious batspeed. Creates good energy into contact through a controlled stride and well timed weight shift. Drove balls into the gaps in batting practice and recorded two hits in the game. Top exit velocity was 87 mph. Has shown well in the outfield at prior events but showed his versatility by working out at first base on this day. Even though his athleticism would make it hard to take him out of the outfield he showed that he could be a high level defensive first baseman. Moved off the bag well with advanced glove skills. Threw across the infield with 74 mph arm strength. More projectable as a position player but showed attributes of being attractive on the mound. Has smooth rhythm with looseness to his arm. Fastball sat 75-79 mph while working on a downward plane. Flashed an 1/7 shaped curveball with sharpness and good depth at 66-69 mph.
