Notes

Comments

2/17/19

Body Type: 6-foot, 180 pounds. Athletic, strong build.
Swing Mechanics: Starts with a wider, open stance in the box. Knee to knee loading process producing an uphill bat path.
Hit: Showed ability to drive pitches through the middle. Nice contact overall progressing in consistency.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity. Power shown more towards opposite field.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Run: 7.16 seconds 60-yard.
Field: 1.94-2.02 second pop time. Has quickness behind the plate in his ball to hand transfer. Feet showed quickness too. Received it well both during his pop time and while catching bullpens.
Throw: 73 mph from behind the plate with most throws on the line.
Defensive Projection: Catcher.

1/26/19

Body Type: 6-foot, 180-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced, open stance with an athletic load.
Hit: Balanced launch with a nice, level path. Has feel for the barrel and takes what the pitch gives him. All field abilities while staying inside the baseball nicely.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity. Neither strength or bat speed are overwhelming tools but both are above average. Ball comes off well with present gap abilties.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Run: 4.47 home to first.
Field: 2.0-2.04 pop times. Looks the part back there. Very fluid actions with a quick release.
Throw: 73 mph. Average to above average arm that plays up due to quick transfer.
Defensive Projection: C.
Additional Comments: Continues to stand out this winter. Doesn’t have a plus tools but doesn’t look to have a minus one either. Solid, well-rounded skill set.

1/21/19

Body Type: 6-foot, 180-pound strong frame.
Swing Mechanics: Fluid, easy load that incorporates athletic movements.
Hit: Smooth swinger that will ramp up intent from time to time. Path plays and swing is very efficient. Does a nice job with lower half to create energy without sacrificing control in his forward move.
Power: Strong hands with above average bat speed. Ball comes off well, showing present gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Middle of the Lineup Potential.
Throw: 73 mph from the crouch. Ball comes out well with accuracy.
Defensive Projection: C.
Additional Comments: Second time we’ve seen him this summer and he has impressed at both. Swing plays and he has an above average skill set behind the dish.

1/12/19

Body Type:
Hit: Right-handed bat with a toe turn load. Compact, aggressive stroke with natural whip. Ball jumps off barrel. Doesn’t get cheated up there. Impressive round.
Power: Gap to gap. All field abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run producer type.
Run:
7.14 60-yard dash.
Field:
1.99-2.08 pop times. Smooth actions with good direction and clean exchange.
Throw:
74 mph arm strength from the crouch. Not a huge arm but more than playable. Gets rid of it quickly and was consistently accurate.
Defensive Projection:
C
Additional Comments:
Definite follow for college coaches.

7/05/17

A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Moves hands back to a strong launch position during his short stride forward. His vertical barrel positioning allows him to create easy whip through the zone. Bat speed is above average and he showed solid strength through contact. A gap to gap guy with more present pop to his pull side. Behind the plate he starts in a mid crouch. Gets out of his stance well, using efficient footwork. Transfer skills are adequate and arm action is ideal.

Home-1st: 4.52
Pop Time: 2.06-2.17
Catcher Velocity: 73
Exit Velocity: 72
