8/2/16 5-foot-9, 170-pound athletic body frame. The outfielder uses good footwork to approach the ball, but could work on smoothing out his footwork as he transitions into his throws. Takes good routes fielding ground balls on his glove side and throws with clean arm action through an upper ¾ slot using 72 mph velocity from the outfield. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance using a rhythmic weight shift with his lower half to his back leg to generate power, before he uses an inward turn with his front foot for timing. Has a fluid load with his hands moving to his back shoulder, swinging with a level bat path through the zone. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Recorded a top exit velocity of 73 mph and ran a 4.65 home to first base time.
6/21/16 5-foot-9, 172-pound athletic frame. Ran a 4.65 from home to first. In the outfield he has efficient footwork approaching the ball and gets solid use out of his crow hop. Would like to see him play one handed to play through the ball more efficiently. Threw to home plate with 75 mph arm strength. At the plate he does a nice job of creating energy into contact with his lower half. Bat gets through the zone on a level path with average batspeed at this stage. Much more in the tank than his 68 mph exit velocity would indicate.
