1/22/17

5-foot-7, 138-pound prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts in a balanced setup. Uses a small leg kick to initiate his lower half. Short stride and lands closed, limiting full use of his lower half. Showed a level to slight uphill path to the ball. Registered a top exit velocity of 69 mph. Ran a 7.35 60. From the outfield registered a top velocity of 72 mph through a long ¾ arm action. In the infield, footwork needs to clean up as it was choppy at times. Presently shows average hands and glove. Uses a quick transfer and throws through a long ¾ slot. Registered a top velocity of 64 mph.

5-foot-5, 112-pound prospect. On the mound the righty used a quick tempo and was able to create positive direction to home plate. Using a high-¾ slot he displayed a three-pitch mix in his arsenal with his fastball sitting 61-64 mph. Curveball had some sharpness to it with an 11/5 shape at 57-58 mph. Showed decent feel for a 58-60 mph changeup and was able to maintain fastball armspeed. At the plate Jack starts in a wider, athletic set up and takes his hands back during his leg kick load in stride. Would like to see him loosen up his hands as they have a tendency to get tied up as he fires the bat through the zone. Reached a top exit velocity of 59 mph off the tee.  He threw across the infield wShort, stiff arm action. Accurate throws. Top velocity of 62 mph. Needs to firm up his front side. Showed some range in the field with average footwork and hands. In the outfield he will need to learn to play through the ball to maintain momentum into his throws. He was able to throw accurately, with 66 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran an 8.44 60-yard dash.
