2/12/17
In the spring of 2016, Wolf was a gangly 6-foot-4, 180-pound lefty sitting in the upper 70’s to low-80s. Fast forward to February of 2017. Wolf now stands 6-foot-7 and his frame is starting to fill out as he weighs 205-pounds. The lanky southpaw was up to 89 on Sunday, mostly sitting 86-88 mph. He throws across his body from a ¾ arm slot, generating serious run to his fastball. He also showed the makings of an effective out pitch with a 70 mph breaking ball that showed excellent movement across the zone. His changeup has room to improve is straight at 79-80 mph.

11/15/15
6-foot-5, 185-pound athletic build. On the mound the left-handed prospect shows good tempo in his delivery. Comes to a controlled balance point at the top of his delivery. Lands closed at foot strike causing him to throw slightly across his body. Throws with a low ¾ arm slot which creates a great deal of deceptiveness in his release point for hitters. Three pitch mix, with the fastball sitting 80-83 mph. Curveball sits 65-67 mph with sharp 2/8 break. Changeup sits 73-75 mph with near fastball arm speed.

7/29/14
6-foot-3, 175-pound skinny projectable build with room to fill out. First-baseman has athletic footwork around the bag, moves well laterally off the bag, has a tendency to play from his heels with ground balls at him. Threw with 77 mph velocity across the field. Left-handed hitter starts from a tall set up, hands back trigger gets to arm bar, showed pull tendencies in BP round with 75 mph exit velocity and ran a 5.1 out of the box. From the mound the lefty has a simple repeatable delivery, using a straight up and down leg kick. He throws from using average armspeed through a ¾ slot. His fastball showed some natural tailing action at 73-75 mph. Curveball had slurvy break at 59-61 mph.

6/16/14
Good 6-foot-3, 175-pound lanky projectable body frame. Left-handed pitcher throws using a clean arm action with average arm speed coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball showed natural tail at times coming in at 70-73 mph. Curveball will develop as he continues to mature it was slow with slurvy type movement at 64 mph. Showed the ability to throw strikes. Could benefit from using his height and getting more length to his stride.

2/28/20:Long gangly 6-foot-7 frame. Easy low effort delivery. Hands showed rhythm throughout delivery and to hand break. Arm is long and loose from a low three-quarter arm slot. Strides closed, but has no problem getting to glove side with hard boring action. Fastball sat 86-90 mph and touched 92 once and 93 once. Early on the fastball bored in hard under right handed hitters hands and they struggled getting to it. To the arm side the fastball had arm side run. Command was very strong early and around the 4th-5th innings it pitches started to creep back over the plate and it didn’t seem as firm. Slider was 75-77 mph and showed two different shapes. Between innings the slider had more sweeping break with primarily one plane action. In game the slider was tighter with some depth and two-plane 1/7 break. Threw about six sliders throughout the course of the game and not one of them was to a right handed hitter. Threw around four or five changeups to right handed hitters at 79-81 mph. The changeups for the most part were straight and almost appeared as a change of pace. Overall, Wolf was strong early and faded late, but it was a cold windy day. The arm action and effort in the delivery say starter, but it was concerning to me that he was a primarily one pitch guy especially to right handed hitters. Slider was used enough to left handed hitters to keep them honest and had the makings of an average breaking ball at the next level. After just one look, Wolf has the talent to be considered in the later rounds of Day Two, but with the intangible of size and left-handed velocity, that may slide him up a few rounds. (Burton)

8/19/19:After traveling to the West Coast toplay in the California Collegiate Leaguelast summer, Wolf continued up the development curve this summer in the Cape. The lefty struck out 27 in 26.2 IP while allowing only 18 hits for a 3.03 ERA. He’s a tall, lanky lefty at 6-foot-7, 200 pounds who throws with a long arm path to a three-quarter slot. Lands slightly cross body and finishes with a head snap which causes his hat to repeatedly fall off. Despite the head movement, Wolf consistently found the strike zone with a 89-92 mph fastball. It was very lively down in the zone and was able to spot the pitch in/out, painting to his gloveside effectively to right-handed hitters. He is also armed with a tight breaking ball which showed near average on this look. It has the potential to be an above average pitch in the future. Early in the game he used a BP type fastball at 84-86 mph for his change of pace, later subtracting a little more velo at 82-83 for a more traditional changeup with arm side life. Overall, Wolf reminds me some of Devin Smeltzer, a former fifth-round pick of the Dodgers in 2016 and current MLB lefty reliever with Minnesota. (Seifert)

3/13/19:Six-foot-7, 205 pounds with a wide set upper body and high waist. Significant projection left. Loose, whippy arm action from low three-quarter slot. Easy effort that should allow him to stick as a starter. Fastball worked 86-88 mph with some arm-side run when it started middle. Needs more velo on the offering in order to elevate prospect status. Presently hitters are able to get barrel on the FB too consistently. Paired it with an average slurve at 71-72 mph. Shows 2/7 shape with more lateral shape than depth to it at this point. Changeup was his best secondary offering at 82-83. Used it early and often, showing confidence to go to it in hitter's counts. Overall, it was a solid first look at Wolf and although he isn't there yet, he's not far off from asserting himself onto the prospect radar. (Jurik)
