10/15/16

An athletically built two-way prospect. Had the most pitchability we saw on the day as he showed very good feel for all three of his pitches. Sat 83-85 mph on his fastball that had heavy run at times. Hitters had very little success again his breaking ball. The combination of depth and sharp break makes it very tough to handle. Also displayed a changeup that had some fade to it.  At the plate the righty starts in a tall setup and uses a knee pinch to initiate his load. Hands are loose and rhythmic during his bat tip. Bat has some quickness to it as it gets through the zone on a downhill path. Has efficient strength through contact. Would like to see him flatten out his swing to make increase the frequency of solid contact. Top exit velocity was 84 mph. In the infield he has smooth actions and obvious confidence in his glove. Could play lower. Threw across the infield with 78 mph arm strength. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash.

8/7/16

A 6-foot-2, 170-pound righty with a projectable frame. The right hander is directional sound in his delivery with a loose arm action. Does a good job with use of his lower half. From a high ¾ arm slot fastball ranged 83-86 mph. Slider has sharp 10/4 break at 71-74 mph. Curveball was a bigger breaking ball with gradual 11/5 movement at 65-67 mph.

2/7/15
6-foot-2, 160-pound projectable frame. From the infield he shows good actions and throws from a high-¾ slot with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that is spread out for good balance. Flat bat path that shows some power to the pull side with 80 mph exit velocity and ran 4.5 down the line. On the mound the righty tends to be a little too mechanical. Show some quickness in his arm and throws from a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 77-80 mph. Shows some depth on his breaking ball at 65-67 mph with 11/5 break. His changeup sits at 67-68 mph with some fade to it.

9/21/14
A 6-foot-1, 150 pound sophomore ran a 7.25 60 and was 71 across the diamond.  Defensively, showcased average hands with a clean exchange.  Offensively, starts in a balanced setup.  Drops hands during the load.  Stride is short.  Shows some bat speed with an overall good approach.  Gets to extension.  Pull-side hitter with some pop. RHP pitches from a high ¾ slot with quick arm speed.  Arm action is long and loose. Fastball sat 75-78 with some run and consistently in the zone.  62-65 mph curveball shows gradual movement, but erratic in the zone and slows arm down on occasion.  Changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed at 60-64 with some sink and thrown for a strike.
