6/4/13
5-foot-9, 165-pound catcher with smallish, athletic build. He may not have the proto-typical size for the position, but he knows how to catch. Plays with a chip on his shoulder. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Reached top velocity of 80 mph from the crouch with accurate throws. Pop times sat between 2.05 to 2.12. At the plate, he shows a balanced approach. Uses a short stride and smooth load. Swing path looked shorter than the last time that we saw him. Showed good use of his lower half and surprising pop in his bat. Registered top exit velocity of 84 mph off the tee.

8/1/12
5-foot-9, 150-pound catching prospect. Good athletic player with smallish frame body. Has some baseball sense and skills, running a 6.94 with solid arm strength (79 mph) from behind the plate. Has good lower body lateral movement and frames well. Needs to enhance his glove to hand exchange, split time is 2.01 to 2.05. Hits from open stance. Takes long swing path into zone but makes contact. On the hill, has quick arm speed from 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows some arm side run. Fastball ranges 84-86 mph. Still needs to develop 2nd pitch.

2/18/12
Very active 5-foot-8, 145-pound receiver. Will have to gain body strength to achieve durability on the next level. Shows very good catching skills. Blocks well laterally and accepts ball. Good release (76 mph velo) with a 1.94-2.01 pop time. Seems to take charge well. This right-handed hitter shows some bat speed (77 mph) into zone, swing is tad long but makes contact. Would like to see compact his load a bit more with some increase lower half torque. On the mound, the righty uses quick arm action through a high 3/4 arm slot. He shows a heavy 80-83 mph fastball with some sink. His curveball sits 65-67 and shows sharp 12/6 breaking action. His knuckle ball fluctuates between 57-66 mph and shows some tumble.

Mott is an athletic, undersized prospect that could become an interesting follow as he grows and matures. Behind the plate, he uses quick feet and a quick, compact exchange to register a consistent 1.98-2.14 pop time. From the crouch, he registered a velocity of 78 mph. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses good balance, a short stride, and an easy load. His bat speed and power should only increase as he becomes stronger. He registered a 7.18 60-yard dash on a slow track.
