6/8/15
6-foot-1, 200-pound strong build. In the infield he projects as a corner guy. Fields the ball out in front of his body with a good, clean exchange. Throws from a short, high-3/4 slot with 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a little toe tap to load. Starts with his hands high and has strength in his swing and power to pull side. Registered top exit velocity of an impressive 96 mph and ran a 7.16-60.

7/3/19: Stephens is having another noteworthy summer for St. Cloud. Following up his All-Star campaign in the summer of 2018 with the Rox, Stephens hit .310 and had an OPS of .962 for the Redhawks this spring. He led the team in RBI, HR, and doubles. At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, there is a lot of power in his frame that he showcases to his pull side, but can handle his barrel to all fields with above average bat speed. The righty possesses a very simple stance, load, and swing that remains balanced throughout. Stephens plays a serviceable third base with smooth actions and arm flow, but could project to LF or 1B at the next level. (DeGagne)

7/20/186-foot-2, 205 pounds. Big athletic build. Above average all-around player. Starting at the plate – he stands in the box with a slightly spread stance. Small leg lift before he starts his swing. Stays balanced throughout his swing while displaying above average bat speed. Swing has lift to it, trying to put the ball in the air. Aggressive at the plate, looking to put the ball in play – hard. What also caught my eye was his ability in the field. Made a couple of difficult plays at the hot corner. Above-average arm strength and glove paired with an ability to hit for average and power makes Stephens an all-around solid prospect heading into his junior year. Went 1-for-3 while also reaching on a fielder’s choice. His one hit was a bases clearing double. He struck-out once and walked once. (Jake Stone)

8-1-2018: Stephens has assembled a pair of solid campaigns for the Redhawks, hitting .298 and .287, respectively, the last two seasons with some decent power. He’s also making a strong impact this summer with seven home runs and nine doubles, along with a .276 average. Stephens has a good, physical frame at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, and showed some pop with the bat. He hit the ball with authority, though everything hit hard was done so to his pull-side. Stephens also showed well from a defensive standpoint. Though not overly flashy, he was a steady defender at third, and for the most part, made clean and accurate throws to first. The Redhawks junior needs to cut down on his strikeouts, but the tools are there to be an intriguing prospect in the MAC come 2019. (K Rogers)
