On the mound, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound righty starts with his feet shoulder width apart. Transitions into short rocker step followed inward leg kick. Lands closed with his stride and throws with long arm action through ¾ slot. Fastball sat 76-79 mph. More velo to come with improved use of lower half. Also showed command of a 64-66 mph breaking ball with gradual 11/5 break. Flashed a 67-70 mph slider as well as a 68-69 mph changeup sold with good arm action. The pitch showed fade to the arm side. Offensively, he starts in a tall setup at the plate. Loading sequence creates balance and separation. Gets lower half involved through a fluid leg kick. Hands move slightly back prior to taking a mostly level path to the ball. Has some bat speed in there. Would like to see him stay through contact more consistently. Has gap to gap pop at this stage. Behind the plate, he starts in an off balanced stance. Shows some quickness in his feet with a short jab step that helps create direction towards second. Transfer is clean and back to his ear. Short arm action with top velocity of 74 mph. Pop times ranged between 2.06 to 2.09.
