Notes

Comments

6/25/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 170-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Takes his time during windup before exploding to the plate. Utilizes the lower half well. Tight and smooth arm action that is on time. Lands in line with home plate.
Fastball: 81-82mph. Slight arm side movement. Locates in the zone consistently but needs to work on locating within the zone better,
Curveball: 71-74mph. 11/5 movement with more depth over action. Ability to throw consistently in the zone. Froze hitters consistently.
Pitchability: Above average pitch ability locating in the zone consistently with both pitches.
Additional Comments: Has good craft on the mound with ability to become above average with some fine tuning.

6/18/19

Body Type: 5-foot 11, 170-pound tall, athletic build with projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athleticism shows on the bump, with a drop/dive type who gets down the mound with both energy and direction. Arm action is clean with a ¾ delivery. Utilizes his body with good feel and athleticism.
Fastball: 79-83. Spin rate provides some arm side run, with command that stays true through the zone. Good spin rate in the high 90s percentile with 1600-1800 rpms allowing for good pace, with late movement. Thrown consistently in the low 80’s topping out at 83.
Curveball: 72-73. Provides a solid secondary offering with the breaker. Good chance in velo with above average control. Mixes into all counts. Good feel for the spinner at a 11/6 break. Solid depth with a tight, sharp break.
Changeup:
Pitchability: Much more to come from the prospect. Two great offerings as is, with more velo and development to come out of the athletic build.
Additional Comments:

6/03/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 170-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Quick arm action. Rotates back towards 2nd base during load. More of a max effort delivery.
Fastball: 80-83mph. Slight arm side movement. Average spin rate with efficiency in the 90% range. Ability to locate on both corners of the plate.
Curveball: 73-74mph. 11/5 movement with some depth to it.
Pitchability: Locates fastball the best. Curveball in the zone some of the time.

6/13/18

On the bump the righty has a slower paced tempo to his lower effort delivery. Arm is compact and clean through a high-¾ slot, Ball comes out well. Fastball will sit 79-83 mph with regular arm side action. An athletic kid that looks to have more velo in there. Also showed feel for two above average secondary offerings with the breaking ball being the sharper of the two. Spins it well giving the pitch depth and sharp action on an 11/5 plane at 72-75mph. Flashed a changeup with fastball armspeed at 75-76 mph. The pitch has a bit of run and dive to it. Definite arm to follow. A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Uses a smooth back load with hands during his leg lift for timing. Nice, compact stroke on a level plane. Natural tools are on parr for class with much more to come with physical maturation. Laced line drives to pull side in BP.

7/12/17

On the mound the right-hander has a fluid, repeatable delivery. Uses an easy leg lift prior to his drop and drive load. Lower half creates solid energy, landing in line at foot strike. Arm action is longer and relatively clean. Showed developing arm speed while working through a near over the top slot. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone, consistently thrown for a strike. Breaking ball showed good depth, while working on an 11/5 plane. Looked confident in the offering that was sharp when down in the zone. Also looked comfortable with his changeup, maintaining fastball arm speed. The offering had some late fade to it. An overall solid performance, showing the ability to pound the zone with all three pitches.
