7/18/17
A 5-foot-8, 140-pound prospect. On the bump the right-hander has a fluid tempo to his delivery. Uses a smooth, easy leg lift prior to his drop and drive load. Very mechanically efficient, getting the most out of his body. Arm works very well through a near over the top slot. Will throw as hard as frame allows. Fastball works downhill with occasional arm side run. Fastball has more giddy up and gets on hitter more than velocity suggests. Worked primarily off the fastball but showed a sharp breaking ball as his primary secondary offering. Throws the pitch firm, giving is depth while working on an 11/5 plane. Solid young arm to follow to see where velocity climbs to as he matures physically. The pitchability and stuff is there to throw at the next level.

On the mound the right-hander is mechanically efficient and gets the most out of his body. Arm action is clean with impressive arm speed. Works through a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 78-83 mph. His 11/5 curveball was one of the better breaking balls of the day. The pitch is very sharp, with depth at 69-73 mph. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a short stride for timing. Hands start at launch and stay during his stride. A back leg hitter that takes an uphill path to the baseball. Bat has some quickness to it. A contact guy who’s swing plays best to the opposite field at this stage. In the outfield he plays under control approaching the baseball. Plays threw the baseball well, maintaining momentum into his throws. Much more arm strength than fame would suggest. Throws were consistently on target.
