8/12/18
Talented pitching prospect in the 2019 class. The right-hander has athletic actions on the bump to his lower effort delivery. Arm works through a high-¾ slot with above average arm speed. Arsenal is lead by his running fastball that will also show regular sink. Filled up the zone wit the pitch that came in at 83-84 mph. Combination of velo and movement allow him to generate consistent swing/miss or weak contact in the zone. Go to secondary offering is the slider. Can throw the pitch for a strike or bury it to get hitters to chase with two strikes. Starter type that should be a high follow for college coaches. Dominated in his outing.

6/26/18
A physical arm that works exclusively from the stretch. Short arm action with obvious strength through a high-¾ slot. Delivery is deceptive and pitches are difficult to pick up out of the hand. Fastball gets on hitters quicker than 79-82 mph velocity would indicate. Spun one of the better breaking balls we saw on the day, showing heavy action on a 10/4 plane. Physical bat from the right side with some serious thump in his bat. Much more juice than 82 mph exit velocity would indicate. Drove balls with authority in BP with a lower effort stroke. At first base he has the frame for the spot and moves well around the bag. Solid defender.

6/6/18
6-foot, 195-pound. Right-handed pitching prospect with an average build. Delivery show some rhythm working in good direction with a drop and drive type lower half. Fastball works out of a three-quarter slot with regular sinking action at 79 to 82 mph. Also offers an 11 to 5 breaking ball that has developed in depth at 67 to 70 mph.

2/3/18

A 5-foot-11, 210-pound physically built prospect. Hartman features an uptempo delivery that doesn’t require a ton of effort. Sat 79-81 mph with the fastball with his near ¾ slot putting natural, heavy run on the pitch. Complements fastball with a sharp, two-plane breaking ball with sharp bite to it. Also displayed solid feel for his change. A two-way prospect who impressed in the infield. Does a nice job of creating angles with his feet to play through the baseball efficiently. Actions are fluid and hands are soft. Ball skills are above average and he maintains actions on the move. Looks comfortable at third base. At the plate he stars in a taller setup before getting into his leg kick timing trigger. Barrel launches from a vertical position and takes a mostly level path to the baseball. Lower half creates energy into contact. A run producer type with above average natural tools.

2/5/17
5-foot-11, 205-pound prospect. On the mound the right-hander has a slower tempo to a delivery he was able to repeat. Tilts hips for leverage. Arm action was clean with slightly above average arm speed. Works through a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 75-79 mph. Spins a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that had gradual break at 59-62 mph. Changeup was his best secondary offering. The pitch showed late run, coming in at 67-69 mph.  A third baseman that moves light on his feet prior to fielder. Fields the ball deep into his body on plays in his funnel. Showed the ability to come in and get the ball. Threw the ball across the infield with 80 mph arm strength. At the plate he starts in an athletic setup. Remains fluid throughout loading sequence. Takes a slightly downhill path to the ball. Barrel gets in and out of the zone quickly. Ball came off his bat well, showing gap to gap pop. Middle of the order type guy.

Exit Velocity: 79
