Mikesell is a 6-foot-7, 180-pound long, lanky prospect. Mikesell was extremely impressive against Lima Bath and put himself on the baseball map. The lanky righty throws from a high 3/4 slot while dropping down here and there to gain more movement on the fastball. From the high 3/4 slot, the fastball sat 81-84 with arm-side run. As he dropped down his fastball sat 80-83 with a lot of arm-side movement. The off-speed for Mikesell consisted of a slurve that shows gradual 10/4 break that he was throwing for strikes the whole game at 70-72 mph. Mikesell also threw a change that sat 68-72 with very good arm-side run with near fastball arm speed.
