2/09/20

2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Up-tempo delivery through a ¾ arm slot. Some effort in his delivery. Lower half mechanics seem more polished. Low spin rate guy whose stuff plays better to the lower part of the zone.
Fastball: True four-seam. Comes in hard downhill. Also offers a two-seam that shows solid arm side action.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1730-1840.
Curveball: 11/5 break with late life. Would like to see the ability to locate lower in the zone more consistently. Above average pitch when in the zone.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1800-2000.
Changeup: Really good changeup. Offering shows similar movement to his two-seam with some additional fade. Strikes are key.

6/18/19

Body Type: 6-foot-3, 205-pound physical frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Much cleaner/easier delivery than we’ve seen in the past. Arm works/is on time and he uses his lower half.
Fastball: Four seam is more true with added velo, touching 90 mph. Two seam will sit in the 84-86 mph range with heavy movement. At points the pitch was running half the plate.
Curveball: Stuff wise the pitch plays as an above average offering. Will need to be in the zone more often with the pitch.
Changeup: Looked really good in warmups, only flashed it a few times in game. Pitch has similar action to two-seam, showing late run/dive.
Pitchability: Better than we’ve seen in passed outings. Showed the ability to locate all three at times.
Additional Comments: Brother was a late bloomer and he looks to be following a similar path. Improved all around.

7/24/18

A right-handed bat that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a simple loading sequence that creates balance timing. Physical kid with a slight downhill path. Ball comes off well, showing some pull side power. Very efficient swing in general with a run producer look to him. At first base he shows a solid skill set across the board. Has feel for the spot with adequate ball skills. On the mound the big, righty with physical projection works exclusively from the stretch with a delivery that requires more than regular effort. Mechanically gets to a good balance point before aggressively getting off the backside. Arm works through a high ¾ slot with evident arm strength. Fastball has some life through the zone at 80-84 mph, topping at 86 mph. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed at 77-78 mph.

6/05/18

6-foot-3, 190-pound. Projectable right-handed pitcher. Works at a moderate tempo with regular effort and a strong lower half. Long arm action working through a ¾ slot. Fastball works downhill with some arm side run at 79-84 MPH. Only secondary offering is a 11/5 breaking ball which has developing depth to it. Upside is on the bump but abilities as a position player are worth noting. Middle of the lineup type bat from the right side and an above average defender at first base. With his size, physicality and arm strength he will be a guy college coaches will take a serious look at.

7/05/17

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Loading sequence is fluid and efficient. Lower half creates solid timing and energy. Path is level with whip through contact. Bat speed is developing. Showed signs of growing into a middle of the lineup guy. Natural tools are above average. A solid frame for the first base position. Plays under control as he moves off the bag. Glove skills are developing. Has feel for the position. On the bump, the right-handed pitching prospect shows a projectable, athletic frame. With a smooth rhythmic wind-up, the prospect offers loose, long arm action throughout his delivery. Creates solid energy through his hips and back foot drive. Arm moves freely at a high ¾ slot. Fastball stays true through the zone and is located well. Curveball break at a 11/5 path and keeps hitters off balance. Changeup complimented his other two pitches, and had some solid movement. Does a good job mixing up pitches in any count, and works both sides of the plate with both pitches.
