11/23/16
6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect. Ran a 8.13 60-yard dash. Has above average athleticism for the first base position. Moves off the bag well and has solid glove skills.  Showed off 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. At the plate he starts with his weight on his back leg prior to his leg kick load. Bat gets through the zone with some quickness to it on an uphill path. Worked exclusively to his pull side during batting practice. Registered a top exit velocity of 88 mph off the tee. On the mound the southpaw creates deception by changing his arm angles. From his high ¾ slot his fastball will sit 78-80 mph. When he drops down the pitch will stay in the mid to upper 70s with heavy run and sink. Breaking ball is either 1/7 or more of a slider depending on arm angle. Also showed feel for a changeup.

2/20/16
Zach is a versatile prospect with an athletic build at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds. At the plate the lefty starts slightly open and uses a leg kick load and aggressive stride to get back to even. During his stride he uses a bat tip to sync up his movements and gets through the zone on a level path. Reached a top exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 4.44 from home to first. Improved in the outfield since we saw him last. He was able to play through the ball and throw accurately, with 78 mph arm strength to home plate. At first base he moves well laterally and showed confidence in his glove. Would like to see him play lower. From a 3/4 slot he threw across the infield with 76 mph arm strength. On the mound he goes with a quicker tempo to a delivery that requires some effort. A strike-thrower, that sat 78-80 mph with his fastball. Curveball showed signs of being sharp with a 1/7 shape at 68-69 mph. Mixed in a 72-73 mph changeup that he was able to keep down in the zone.

2/15/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic build. On the mound he shows some rhythm in his delivery with some effort behind it. Repeatable delivery that filled up the zone with strikes. Lands on line at foot strike, ends up falling off slightly toward third base. Throws with a short back arm action into a high ¾ slot. 77-80 mph with some arm side run. Curveball sits 65-67 mph with sharp break on a 2/8 plane. Changeup sits 71-72 mph with near fastball arm speed. Zach continues to improve at the plate. He was able to create good energy through his leg kick load while remaining balanced by taking his hands back during his forward stride. Produced an exit velocity of 85 mph. Moves athletically around the bag with the ability to field the ball out in front of his body. Threw with 78 mph arm strength across the infield and ran a 4.75 from home to first.

2/13/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic build. At the plate he starts with an open stance and gets back to even through a leg kick and aggressive stride. Is able to keep his hands loose and fluid throughout his load creating good whip through the zone. Registered a top exit velocity of 86 mph. Would benefit from more weight shift into contact. Profiles as a corner infield/outfielder at the next level. At first base he moves athletically around the bag and showed off a quick transfer on his double play balls. In the outfield he takes aggressive routes to the ball. Would like to see him speed up his exchange. Threw with 76 mph arm strength to home plate and across the diamond. Ran a 8.16 60-yard dash.

1/31/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic build. On the mound he lands closed at foot strike which causes him to fall off towards third base. Throws with a short back arm action into a ¾ slot. Three pitch mix with the fastball sitting 78-81 mph. Curveball sat 65-67 mph with sharp break on a 2/8 plane. Changeup sat 72-74 mph. At the plate he continues to improve as he gets comfortable with a swing that has some moving parts to it. He is able to consistently find the barrel and showed some pop to his pull side. Would benefit by transferring more weight into contact to be able to consistently create backspin and use the whole field. In the infield he once again showed the ability to move well off the bag and field the ball out in front of his body. He showed off 79 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 4.4 from home to first.
1/24/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic build. At the plate he starts with an open stance that gets to even on the swing. Even plane through the zone. Hands stay short and quick to the ball. From the infield he does a good job fielding out in front of his body. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 76 mph arm strength.

1/18/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic frame. On the mound the lefty uses a repeatable delivery with regular effort required, he throws using average armspeed through a ¾ slot. A dual prospect at the plate the lefty starts open with a vertical barrel. Uses a hands to shoulder load to stay short, compact to the ball. Has an efficient leg kick to create good forward energy. Exit velocity was 84 mph. Showed a good run through from the outfield with the ability to field the ball on his glove side foot. Could get more use out of his crow hop. Showed 68 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran an 8.35 60-yard dash.
1/16/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound athletic frame. At the plate the lefty starts open and gets back to even with an aggressive stride. Has plenty of moving parts to his swing that when synced up, give him added power. Uses good rhythm and fluidity to apply at bat tip while taking his hands back to his shoulder during his leg kick. Was able to translate his 86 mph exit velocity of the tee to batting practice, driving the ball to both sides of the field. At first base he threw a 3/4 slot across the diamond with 74 mph arm strength. Needs to work on his footwork around the bag. Ran an 8.22 60 yard dash. On the mound he uses a good tempo with a delivery that requires some effort. Throwing from a 3/4 arm slot he has unique arm action that makes his release point inconsistent at times. Has four pitches in his arsenal. His fastball sat 77-79 with big arm side run. Curveball is a big breaker with a 10/4 shape. When down in the zone his 64-65 mph changeup had late sink and good depth. Also mixed in a splitter with good downward movement at 72-73 mph.

7/29/14
6-foot, 183-pound medium sized body frame. First baseman shows unsure hands on this occasion, with average footwork that can improve. Left-handed hitter, starts from an open stance getting back to even, uses a leg kick for added power, uses both fields, fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. Reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 5.1 down the line to first base. On the mound the lefty uses a short slinging arm action through a ¾ slot with average armspeed. Requires regular effort, his fastball was at 75-77 mph. Curveball was thrown at 1/7 tilt, with gradual break at 64-66 mph. Changeup showed some tailing movement thrown with fastball armspeed at 64-66 mph.

2/17/14
Young LHP with athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame. Uses a slinging arm motion to throw a 71-72 mph fastball. Showed two changeups, a split change at 60-62 mph, and a slip change which had curveball type movement at 59 mph. First-baseman showed slightly stiff actions, with 69 mph arm strength. From the outfield he threw with 68 mph arm strength. Projects best as a first baseman. Offensively, he started from a balanced set up, no present hand trigger, high front leg kick, needs to be more consistent with lower half use. Creates some lift off the bat in his swing. Ran an 8.34 60-yard dash.
