Whittaker has seem to of taken the next step in his development as the velocity has risen to where he now tops out at 87 while sitting 84-85 in most of his outings. The curveball is still sharp and he has made gains at the plate thanks to a refined approach and added strength. One of the top prospects in his class, Whittaker is ready to take the next step and should be on college coaches radars as a 2108 grad to lock in on.

Whittaker is a two-way player who excels and shows promise on the mound as a 5-foot-10, 148-pound right-hander with young features and remaining strength gains. On the mound, Whittaker works from 3/4 arm slot, clean delivery with solid actions and whip in his arm. Fastball works between 79-82 with life down in zone, curveball with 12/6 shape, late biting action, swing and miss pitch at 70-73 mph. Changeup showed feel at 71-74 mph, threw for strikes. Lots of potential as he matures and gains strength. Offensively, quiet actions at the plate, small load and trigger, line drive approach and barrells up when he gets extended. Proper actions at short, makes play with aggressiveness, arm works with accuracy, was 81 mph across the diamond. Good looking 2018 grad who will continue to develop as he matures and adds size.
