8/4/17
Macneil was the youngest player for Team Ontario at the Future Games as a 14 year old. The right-handed hitter, listed at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, held his own during the week, collecting two hits in his last game, one coming via a line drive double down right field line. Macneil shows bat speed with an easy, quiet setup, leg kick that works up to begin separation, timing was slightly off in BP, not allowing him to catch balls out front. Still was able to find barrel and hit some balls hard while he did show off his power potential with an exit velocity of 98 mph. Corner infielder who made all the plays, as he continues to mature and develop, Macneil will be one to keep an eye on as the power is above the rest of his age class in the province.

7/5/17

Has slimmed down and added more strength, now 195-pounds, Macneil shows bat speed and advanced power for his age as a 2020 grad. Leg kick at the plate as he starts upright, gets down on time and looks to unleash as the barrel stays through the hitting zone with loud contact, left the yard twice in BP to his pull side, generates well and attacks baseball. Defensively, corner guy with arm strength at 85 mph across the diamond. Feet can become quicker and work more with with upper half but shows feel and fundamentals in the infield. 2020 grad with major upside and chance to be middle of the order bat.

10/23/16
Already 6-foot-2 and 205-pounds, MacNeil still shows signs of more physical growth. At the plate, MacNeil stands tall, and shows great balance with a powerful swing for his age. His stride is minimal with the bat starting rested on his shoulder before the hands load back and drive forward, impacting the baseball. Defensively, MacNeil is sure-handed while still growing into his body and developing foot speed. MacNeil’s arm carries, and is very interesting on the mound. Working with a controlled pace, MacNeil has a slight hook in the back before utilizing good present arm speed, and commanding fastballs in the zone that got up as high as 80 and has touched 81 mph before. He also flashed a good changeup (71-73), and a developing breaking ball. MacNeil’s has a big lower half that helps him get drive off the rubber, and as he continues to mature and get stronger, should lead to even more velocity

3/26/16
Young 2020 grad with solid baseball actions and big frame to dream on. Swings the bat with pop from the right side, ball jumps when he is on time and gets extended, quiet actions with small stride and load, generates well to contact and likes to get arms extended. Defensively, takes good routes to ground balls, arm has some strength across the diamond, top velocity was 71 mph. On the mound, Macneil is slow and easy tempo over the rubber, arm works, clean in the back and gets out front and downhill from 3/4 slot with fastball at 75 mph. Feel for breaking stuff with proper rotation and downward action. Young 2020 with ability to be a top prospect as he continues to develop.
