6-foot, 150-pound catcher has an athletic and lean body with room to add size and strength. Jacob is a long strided runner with a 40-yard time of 5.5-seconds and a 4.75 time from home to first. Defensively, Jacob was a 2.10 with his pop time while his velocity from the plate was 70 mph. Moved well behind the plate, arm worked and was online with carry to the bag. Showed proper footwork, can generate a little more power and gain distance by not getting to tall too early. Was quiet and confident receiving during pens. Offensively, line drive approach, small leg kick with minimal stride. Hands are up and back in good position to hit. Stays behind ball, and works middle of field. Exit velocity was 77 mph. Added strength will be key for O'Malley and improving his numbers as the actions are there.
