Brown, the Kentucky commit, now listed at 6-foot-1, 193-pounds with strength and muscle throughout. Bat speed is the biggest plus for Brown, with exit velo up to 96 mph off the tee. The tools are there to hit, and Brown has shown more feel and contact than he has in the past. He's more loose and free in the box, and the hands have shown more load and movement before he starts his swing. Still will display power in BP with a few rockets that left the field quickly in BP, and has chance to turn into game time juice. Defensively, projects more of a 3B at next level and can also envision him getting a few looks in the outfield.
7/24/17
7.24.17 Brown has made big strides over the past year and continues to look like an exciting young prospect. Beginning to grow into his frame, but still lots of room left to fill out. Explosive at the plate. Very fun to watch in batting practice as Jaden shows very quick hands, generates very impressive bat speeds, and the ball explodes off his bat. Subtle leg kick, loads quietly on his back foot as he brings his hands back into a proper launch position and explodes towards the ball. Drives bat through the zone with two hands, as he transfers his weight over onto his front side. Had a few impressive rounds of batting practice at the Rogers Centre where he showed off some juice in his bat and hit one into the left field bullpen. Still raw at short, but hands work, has a strong arm, throws have life, and displays great athleticism. Brown separates himself with the explosiveness and athleticism in his game and is the top prospect in 19' class.
Exciting young player with plenty of ability and explosiveness to his game. Shows athleticism and quick twitch actions in the box. The hand and bat speed jumps out at you right away, generates well and ball comes off his bat differently, fun to watch hit, strength and quickness is above his age. Ran a 7.16 in February 2016, moves around well in the infield, arm works with some carry across the diamond, still polishing game on defensive side of ball. Exciting young prospect with tools and lots of upside, coaches will want to keep a close eye on the 2019 prospect.
