12.16.16 - Committed to Johns Hopkins University

08.21.16
Athletic right-hander that showed a good command during his outing with all three pitches. The fastball comes at the hitter out of slightly higher than ¾ arm slot. The fastball sat 80-82 mph with good arm side run to the pitch. The fastball has a downhill plane to it as well. The breaking ball showed promise, sitting 70-72 with excellent depth and tilt. Could be an out pitch at the next level. The changeup is advanced as well, sitting at 76-78 with fade and action to it. Stands 6-foot-3, 200- pounds with wide shoulders , a repeated delivery and a very good feel for pitching. The delivery is repeated, and the direction of his feet and top half are good. The glove side could be posted more appropriately as he makes his way to the plate. 1.39 to the plate in the stretch as he uses a knee to knee ¼ kick, which I like.

Big 6-foot-2, 195-pound with projectable pitchers body. Strike thrower with up-tempo delivery. Works quick on mound, arm is short in the back and gets out-front quick from a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball was 77-78 mph and can get more in there with the ability to get out-front and finish. Curveball sat in the 65-66 mph range while it showed 11/5 shape and had some depth when he was able to spin it out front. Changeup worked at 68-69 mph, has feel for pitch and was able to keep arm speed. Deceptive pitcher where balls is on you quicker than anticipated. Should be able to increase velocity with some minor mechanical adjustments.
