Now 6-foot, 175-pounds, well proportioned frame with strength and muscle, has improved bat speed and swing with added strength gains. Runs well with some effort involved, 4.30 down the line. At the plate, rhythm to swing with slight downward bat path, gets hands going and the bat started, can create and generate more torque to contact, line drive and gap to gap type approach, able to get barrel out front and extended when on time. Defensively, moves well out the crouch, quick feet, transfer and arm can get long on throws, some strength in arm, few adjustments and could see more carry with throws, pop time was 2.13 with tools to work with and improve. Dowell has had a good winter, with tools to work with in all facets of the game. Strength and skill set will take him to the next level, one to look closely at as an unsigned senior.

5-foot-11, 160-pound catcher with a projectable frame. At the plate starts even, slight bend in his knees, hands shoulder height, quiet load, explosive to the ball, registered 72 mph exit velocity. Made lots of hard contact, line-drive swing, front side tends to open up. Behind the plate recorded a 2.03 pop time with 69 mph from the crouch, violent release to second with clean footwork. As an outfielder takes proper routes, confident picking up the ball, gets it off in a hurry. Dowell has another year of high  school left, but he looks stronger and is becoming more polished now than he did a year ago.
