A 6-foot-5 right-hander, Hospital has long-limbs and a great, projectable pitcher’s frame which will continue to fill out as he matures and adds strength. Long stride length, throws from a natural ¾ arm slot, arm is loose, while the action is quick and clean. Able to utilize height to his advantage, creates a tough downhill angle and shows the ability to keep the ball down in the zone. Fastball tops out at 86 mph, but sat 80-83 mph in the season’s opening showcase. Showed good feel for his curveball, which had an 11/5 shape with some good bite. Circle changeup continues to get better, a pitch that works well off his fastball, with arm-side fading action down in the zone. A very intriguing 2019 classman, Hospital is projectable and has a strong three-pitch. There is more velocity in the tank and it will be interesting to keep an eye on him as he goes through his summer season.
Long and lanky with projectable pitchers frame at 6-foot-4, 168-pounds. Works from 3/4 arm slot, clean action in the back, repeats delivery well and is able to work outfront with downhill angle on ball, arm is loose with whip, fastball sat in low 80's, more to come as he matures, gets stronger and involves lower half and back side, pounded the zone to both sides with tail on fastball. Curveball had 11/5 shape with spin and depth, feel for pitch at 70-71 mph, will only become better as he gets stronger and fills out, changeup was limited viewing, potential for pitch to be there. Also worked out in the outfield and hit. Arm had carry and accuracy with a velocity of 81 mph from right field. At the plate, aggressive hacks with some length to swing. Future lies on the mound with high ceiling. Will be a high follow coming into the 2017 season, Hospital could make big jumps on the mound with a solid winter as he matures as a pitcher and fro the physical side as well.
