7/12/17
A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Looks athletic and comfortable in the box. Barrel flows into a strong launch position prior to swing decision. Lower half creates solid energy through a leg kick and well timed weight shift. Swings with intent on a level path with above average natural tools. Showed feel for the barrel and the ability to produce consistent ball flight. Talented bat to follow. In the outfield, his abilities were on full display. Showcases proper outfield mechanics with above average footwork. Plays through the ball well. Fields the ball outside of his body on his glove side foot. Arm is strong and accurate from a natural 3/4 arm slot. On the mound the right-hander showed a smooth, repeatable delivery. Mechanically efficient with clean arm action. Arm speed is developing and he works through a high-3/4 slot. A strike thrower that has feel for all of his offerings. Worked both sides of the plate with his fastball. Shows all the signs of more velocity to come. Both his secondary pitches are above average offerings. Breaking ball was very sharp, showing big break on an 11/5 plane. Changeup had some fade to it and was consistently in the zone.
